Programme N0222A12A4604: Transnational History - master, full-time
Academic year 2026/2027
The two-year Master’s program in Transnational History provides advanced training in modern and contemporary history, covering the period from the late nineteenth century to the present. The program focuses on historical processes and phenomena that transcend the boundaries of individual states, nations, and cultures and that have shaped today’s interconnected world.
The curriculum combines compulsory and elective courses. Compulsory courses introduce students to key concepts in transnational history, provide methodological training in historical research, and guide students through the preparation of their master’s thesis. Elective courses are organized into thematic modules that explore specific transnational processes and phenomena that have significantly influenced the contemporary world. This modular structure allows students to shape their studies according to their academic interests.
Graduates of the Master’s program in Transnational History are prepared for careers in both international and national environments. Possible career paths include international organizations, public administration, cultural institutions, non-governmental organizations, media, and multinational companies. The program also provides a strong foundation for further doctoral study in history or related disciplines.
