Bachelor's Programme: Economics and Finance

Academic year 2024/2025

Bachelor in Economics and Finance (BEF) is a three-year study program taught fully in English. It aims to give the student a thorough grounding in both theoretical and applied economics and finance. We put emphasis on developing abstract analytical reasoning, which allows our graduates to solve complex economic and financial problems in various settings. Courses are taught both by core faculty and external professionals from the central bank, commercial banks and business analysts. Our graduates typically assume challenging positions in banking, consulting, investment funds and public administration.

Academic director of the bachelor study program Economics and Finance is ExternĂ odkaz doc. PhDr. Julie Chytilová, Ph.D.

Total study obligations: 180 credits

A) Compulsory courses (J#0710): 97 credits

Student must pass all compulsory courses according to the list below.

B) Elective courses (J#0711): min. 63 credits

C) Optional courses: max. 20 credits

Student must pass compulsory, elective and optional courses to fulfill together the total of 180 credits. What are optional courses? Other courses - than compulsory and elective courses specified for this study program here - taught at the University are regarded as optional courses. As optional courses are also regarded courses taught at other higher education institutions or their parts, or other education or scientific institutions, if so established by an agreement between the faculty or University and that university or institution.
