Central European Comparative Studies (CECSK) - part-time study programmeThe two-year master’s programme in Central European Comparative Studies (CECS) concentrates on the areas of Germany, Austria and the Visegrad Countries (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary) with an overlap onto neighbouring regions and offers a thorough comparative and multidisciplinary understanding of the issues involved. The programme is offered either in the form of normal everyday study or as combined study (which is geared for working people and entails attendance on every Friday afternoon of the semester). The programme focuses on comparative analysis in the following areas: political systems in the 20th century, political development since 1990, the economy, European integration, culture, and the history of society in the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to academic subjects, the programme offers intensive schooling in at least two languages (such as Czech, Polish, and Russian). Passing some subjects in German is obligatory.
