Studijní obor 6702R: Central and Eastern European Studies/International Master in Economy, State and Society
Central and Eastern European Studies represents a Czech part of the ERASMUS MUNDUS two years´ M.A.programme International Master in Economy, State and Society aka IMESS. IMESS, a double-degree programme accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic, is based on cooperation of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (University College of London), which is the main coordinator of the programme, and five other universities: Charles University (Czech Republic), Corvinus University of Budapest (Hungary), Helsinki University (Finland), Jagiellonian University (Poland), and University of Tartu (Estonia).
The programme, with the first year spent at School of Slavonic and East European Studies (University College of London) and the second year at one of the five mentioned universities, concentrates on the area of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and Eurasia. IMESS is divided into three tracks: Economy & Business, Politics & Security, Nation, History & Society. Each track focuses on intensive language training, research methods and on selected and important issues of the area according to teaching and scholar orientation of the each of the mentioned universities. Successful graduates will be given a double degree (UCL and one selected university) and a diploma supplement issued by the IMESS consortium.
Electives: during the first year maximum of 8 ECTS in credits can be taken from the IMESS Optional Electives list, subject to the approval of the Track Tutor and timetabling capacities, during the second year maximum of 6 ECTS can be taken from the optional courses at the UK FSV, subject to the approval of the Track Tutor and timetabling capacities. Maximum 46 ECTS can be taken from the single list of E & B track electives.

Electives: during the first year maximum of 8 ECTS in credits can be taken from the IMESS Optional Electives list, subject to the approval of the Track Tutor and timetabling capacities, during the second year maximum of 6 ECTS can be taken from the optional courses at the UK FSV, subject to the approval of the Track Tutor and timetabling capacities. Maximum 34 ECTS can be taken from the single list of P & S track electives.
