Ondřej Císař, Ph.D. Academic year: 2025/2026 The doctoral study programme of Sociology at the FSV UK prepares students for basic and ap and teaching in the academia, in scientific and research institutes, private sector and in institutions requiring a high level of theoretical and methodological education in sociolo disciplines. The programme supports the development of sociological thinking, especially as a scientifi focused on basic research in the main fields of social sciences as well as applied researc must prove their knowledge of present-day theories and methodology and also their ability independently to scientific debates new knowledge that meets internationally recognised st graduate profile enables scientific careers, careers in applied research, analytical and e consultancy agencies, market and media research, individual organisations and corporations Language of Instruction: English Language of Instruction: English State doctoral examination (JSZSO1): • The PhD state examination in the new format consists of a debate on the theoretical cont and methodological design of the dissertation. The manuscript of a publication (at least process, i.e. after acceptance by the journal editor for review) that relates to the mai objective of the dissertation serves as the basis for this debate. The text must be acce consideration in a journal that is in the WoS or Scopus database. A text that is not rel dissertation cannot be submitted for the state examination. The text is submitted by the to the committee one month in advance with a cover letter or introduction that places th publication in the overall framework of the dissertation. Students must also enrol in the courses that are compulsory year (or second-year) students in the doctoral programme of study (these courses are usual the summer semester). Students must enrol in and complete these courses during the first a the programme. The compulsory courses are JSDS10 Research Design (WS), JSDS11 Academic Wri (SS), JSDS03 New Methods in Social Research, and JSDS04 Sociology as a Contemporary Scienc Students are required to attend regular doctoral seminars organized according to thematic of several creative groups (from the second semester for the entire period of study).
