Studijní obor je tvořen dvěma příbuznými společenskými vědami: Studium sociologie zahrnuje sociologie, přehled směrů a osobnosti současné sociologie, seznámení s oborovými sociologi sociologickým pohledem na současnou společnost. Sociální antropologie klade důraz na důsle evropocentrismus a v důsledku toho vysvětluje, co je variabilní a co je universální v jedn společnostech a kulturách. Zvláštní pozornost je pak věnována dichotomii společnost – kult pozornost je věnována metodologii sociologických a antropologických výzkumů (kvantitativní výzkumným technikám i metodám zpracování a analýzy dat , dále potřebným znalostem ze stati matematiky Absolventi mohou samostatně provádět dílčí sociální analýzy politického, hospodářského a k naší společnosti. Budou připraveni pro výzkumnou činnost jak ve středoevropském (českém) p v prostředí zámořských kultur a společností. Najdou uplatnění v institucích řešících jakým většinu současných společenských problémů sjednocující se Evropy i globalizovaného světa. v oblasti poradenství, výzkumu veřejného mínění, výzkumu trhu, v neziskovém sektoru a pod. Prominutí přijímacích zkoušek do navazujícího magisterského studia sociologie - viz inform magisterském studiu.
